These Terms of Use ("Terms", "Agreement") govern your use of the Protein Spy mobile application ("Service", "App") operated by Lantern 6 Studios Ltd ("us", "we", or "our"). By downloading, accessing, or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using this Service, you accept and agree to be bound by the terms and provisions of this agreement. If you do not agree to abide by the above, please do not use this Service.

Description of Service

Protein Spy is a mobile application that provides users with information about protein-rich foods, including nutritional data, pricing information from various retailers, and related content. The Service is available in both free and premium subscription versions.

Third-Party Retailers and Price Information

Protein Spy is an independent price comparison service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise connected to Tesco, Sainsbury's, Aldi, Lidl, Waitrose, Asda, Morrisons, Marks & Spencer, or any other retailer named or referenced in the Service. All retailer names, trademarks, logos, and product descriptions are the property of their respective owners and are used solely to identify where products are sold, on a nominative-use basis, for the purpose of price comparison.

Prices displayed in the Service are gathered daily from third-party data sources and are provided for informational and comparison purposes only. They are indicative estimates, not offers or contractual quotations. Actual prices in store, online, or via delivery services may differ, including due to promotions, regional variation, delivery charges, seasonal availability, product substitutions, or errors in the underlying data sources. You should always verify the current price with the retailer before making a purchase.

Product information including protein content, pack sizes, dietary attributes (such as vegan or vegetarian labelling), and category classifications are also indicative. You should read the retailer's own product information and packaging for definitive nutritional and allergen information, particularly if you have dietary restrictions, allergies, or medical needs.

We do not receive any commission, referral fee, or other payment from the retailers named in the Service based on the prices we display or purchases you make. Any advertising shown in the Service is served by Google AdMob and is not endorsed by us or by the retailers whose prices we compare.

User Accounts

The Service does not require account creation to use its basic features. For premium features, subscription management is handled through your device's app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store) and is subject to their respective terms of service.

Subscription and Payment Terms

Premium Subscription

• Premium subscriptions are billed monthly at £2.99 (or equivalent in local currency)
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends
• You can manage and cancel your subscription through your device's app store settings
• No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods, except as required by applicable law

Free Trial

If offered, free trials automatically convert to paid subscriptions unless cancelled before the trial period ends.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws or regulations
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service
• Use automated systems to access the Service without authorization
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers connected to the Service
• Use the Service to transmit harmful, threatening, or offensive content

Prohibited Uses

You must not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our prior written consent
• Use the Service for any commercial purpose without our authorization
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its systems
• Attempt to obtain unauthorised access to premium features, including by sharing, distributing, or attempting to guess any access codes intended for beta testers or App Store reviewers
• Use the Service in a manner that could damage, disable, or impair the Service
• Collect or harvest information from other users of the Service

Intellectual Property Rights

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Lantern 6 Studios Ltd and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. This license does not include the right to:

• Modify or copy the materials
• Use the materials for commercial purposes
• Attempt to decompile or reverse engineer any software
• Remove any copyright or proprietary notations from the materials

Retailer names, trademarks, and logos referenced in the Service remain the property of their respective owners. Nothing in these Terms grants you or Protein Spy any rights in those third-party marks beyond fair, nominative use for the purpose of identifying the retailers whose prices are being compared.

Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Service. By using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers

The information provided by our Service is for general informational purposes only. While we strive to keep the information up to date and correct, we make no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, about:

• The completeness, accuracy, reliability, or suitability of the information
• Whether the information provided will be accurate, up-to-date, or free from errors
• The availability of the Service at any particular time
• Any nutritional or health-related advice or recommendations

Without limiting the above, we make no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or availability of any price information displayed in the Service. Prices may be out of date, incorrect, or missing entirely due to changes at the retailer, errors in our data sources, network issues, or other factors outside our control. The Service is a research tool to help you compare prices; it is not a substitute for checking the retailer's current price before purchasing.

Any reliance you place on such information is strictly at your own risk. The Service is not intended to provide medical, nutritional, or dietary advice. Consult with qualified professionals for such advice.

Limitation of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL LANTERN 6 STUDIOS LTD, ITS DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, PARTNERS, AGENTS, SUPPLIERS, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under English law.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Lantern 6 Studios Ltd and its directors, employees, contractors, agents, officers, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or debt, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney's fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to our Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach the Terms.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service will cease immediately. If you wish to terminate your account, you may simply discontinue using the Service and cancel any active subscriptions through your device's app store.

ALL PROVISIONS OF THE TERMS WHICH BY THEIR NATURE SHOULD SURVIVE TERMINATION SHALL SURVIVE TERMINATION, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, OWNERSHIP PROVISIONS, WARRANTY DISCLAIMERS, INDEMNITY, AND LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY. SUCH TERMINATION IS EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY.

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of those rights.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Changes to Terms

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide reasonable notice — at least 30 days — prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.

By continuing to access or use our Service after any revisions become effective, you agree to be bound by the revised terms. If you do not agree to the new terms, you are no longer authorized to use the Service.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable by a court, the remaining provisions of these Terms will remain in effect. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between us regarding our Service and supersede and replace any prior agreements we might have had regarding the Service.
